OEHHA Intent to List PFOA and PFOS (September 2016)California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) announced its intent to list perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) to the Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to the state to cause reproductive toxicity. Based on findings by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), one of the nation’s leading authorities for identifying toxins, PFOA and PFOS have produced sufficient evidence to qualify for their addition to the list under the authoritative bodies mechanism.
|Chemical||CAS. No.||Listing Mechanism|
|Perfluorooctanoic Acid||335-67-1||Developmental Toxicology|
|Perfluorooctane Sulfonate||1763-23-1||Developmental Toxicity|
