EPA Releases TSCA Reform Implementation Plan (June 2016)

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released an implementation plan for addressing new requirements in the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act signed into law last week. The Act amends the Toxic Substances Control Act, which seeks to regulate hazardous chemicals and how they are evaluated, manufactured, and sold.

The implementation plan outlines EPA’s plan for meeting newly outlined requirements by assigning them to one of the following categories:

▲ Immediate Actions (begin Day 1)

▲ Framework Actions (process to guide long term program)

▲ Early Mandatory Actions (to be completed within the first year)

▲ Later Mandatory Actions (to be completed within the first few years)

The complete implementation document is accessible
here on EPA’s website and available for download as a PDF.
